Recommended tracks Betelgeize – Serokariy the Pigeon and Skypark By deep stories Posted on November 14, 2024 Share on Facebook Share on Google+ Share on Linkedin Betelgeize continues to show himself to be one of the most imaginative organic house producers out there, as he releases a new album Serokariy the Pigeon and Skypark, that soundtracks a fairy tale he wrote. The album centres round organic house, but also verges into Afro house due to the African vocals provided by IKVA, and the flowing tribal drums within tracks like “Congosa,” “Serekana,” and “Mangadi Yala.” There is a lot of diversity within the album, as tracks like “Kapibayamba” and “Magbe Salae” are quite trippy with psychedelic vibes. “Chagu” is a melodic slow burner that has a deep and chilled sound with a more atmospheric style of vocal by IKVA. IKVA and Betelgeize are the glue that binds this release, as they feature on all of the tracks in one form or another. Each track also features a different collaborating producer including contributions from AIWAA, Daniel Hokum, DIBIDABO, Kapchiz, Volen Sentir, Kermesse and Valique. Giving a quote about the album, and its concept, Betelgeize said: “This album is a soundtrack for a fairy tale I wrote about a pigeon who lives in a beautiful park in harmony with himself and others. One day, the pigeon has a dream, which gives him a premonition that he can find wealth if he goes on a dangerous adventure. So, out of joy, through doubts and mysticism, we get into a dynamic and vivid journey of a pigeon, in which he meets other animals that vary between kind and dangerous characters. The music accompanies the story at every stage, and each chapter has its own track to express its mood and feeling. The first track symbolises a peaceful life in its mood, then the second track is representing doubts and mysticism. Tracks 3 and 4 are dynamic, because the adventure actually starts. First, a bold but unsuccessful attempt to fly over the mountains, then in a group of other animals he uses a bridge to cross a steep gorge. 5 is about falling in love, and 6 is about the main character being captured, then the last one resolving the adventure with a happy ending after he escapes captivity.” This is a very imaginative concept that’s been well executed, as it’s a cohesive body of music that does tell a story, while also staying relevant for a dance floor.
