Ableton Workshop – Creating Spaces

Unser Mastering Ingenieur Shahin von Collected gibt jetzt auch einen Workshop zum Umgang mit Ableton Live. Dabei legt er im Kurs „creating spaces“ besonderen Fokus auf die räumliche Gestaltung von Beat- sowie Melodieelementen. Kerninhalte sind 3-Dimensionalität, Tiefenstaffelung und Stereo-Klanggestaltung. Ziel des Workshops ist somit die Vermittlung von Techniken und Tricks für kreative Stereo-Audio-Bearbeitung sowie Soundgestaltung. Diese Arbeitsweisen sind sowohl zur kreativen als auch zur technischen Anwendung im Mix und in den Produktionen äußerst nützlich. Dabei werden primär interne Plug-Ins und Funktionen von Ableton verwendet und erläutert; hinzu kommen gezielt ausgewählte und erprobte Plug-Ins (Freeware), welche die von Ableton ergänzen.

Der Workshop untergliedert sich in kurze Theorieabschnitte und intensive Praxiseinheiten. Besonders hervorzuheben ist dabei die intensive Interaktion mit dem Dozenten. Die reine Lehrzeit beträgt 4 Stunden.

Our mastering engineer Shahin from Collected now also gives a workshop on how to work with Ableton Live. In the course “creating spaces” he focuses on the spatial design of beat and melody elements. Core contents are 3-dimensionality, depth staggering and stereo sound design. The goal of the workshop is to teach techniques and tricks for creative stereo audio processing and sound design. These working methods are extremely useful for both creative and technical application in mixing and productions. Primarily internal plug-ins and functions of Ableton are used and explained; in addition, specifically selected and tested plug-ins (freeware) are used, which complement those of Ableton.

The workshop is divided into short theoretical sections and intensive practical units. Particularly noteworthy is the intensive interaction with the instructor. The pure teaching time is 4 hours.
