Niki Sadeki – Layers Ep

Jacob Groening‘s Kamai Music starts 2023 with an EP by Canadian artist Niki Sadeki who delivers three indie dance tracks that are deep and melodic. Niki Sadeki has only been releasing music since 2020, but she has already made a name for herself as a consistent producer whose tracks have all the ingredients needed to satisfy a dance floor. The three original tracks are also joined by a remix from El Mundo who is a Dutch artist that mixes live instruments and electronic sound to create organic tracks with lots of melody. This particular remix is a lot more electronic than his usual output, but it’s still got the intricacy that is trademark to his sound. “Going on to Glory” is the opening track on the EP and it’s got digitised textures and haunting synths nestled with shuffling percussion rhythms. El Mundo’s remix of Going on to Glory strips some of the synths and gives the melody sound room to breathe, plus he also adds a new melody to the breakdown section. “March of the Living” is a spine-tingling track with sparkling synths and rippling pads that build towards an extended breakdown. “One Lane Bridge” is the most up-tempo track on the release and it’s got trippy synths that build with intensity as the track unfolds.
