Tamer ElDerini, Bassam Rady – Kalam

Tamer ElDerini brings the heat with his new Kalam EP on Sol Selectas. Featuring 4 of his original tracks, it’s a mystical organic house release with a mix of tempos. An ambassador for Egyptian organic house, Tamer ElDerini is at the forefront of the scene in his homeland. Based in Cairo, Tamer ElDerini’s music fuses traditional Middle Eastern sounds with modern electronic music, creating mesmerising tracks that are hot like the desert sun. He is no stranger to Sol Selectas, as despite this being his first solo release on the record label, he has featured tracks on a selection of their mixed artist releases. He has also contributed music to other labels ranging from Cosmic Awakenings to Pipe & Pochet.

“Kalam” is a mid-tempo track with a pulsating bass underpinning an enchanting vocal, and a melody played on the traditional kanun instrument. “Baladoka” lifts the tempo with its progressive synth pads, emotive vocal tones, and Egyptian flute.

“Lotus” is another mid-tempo organic house track, fusing trumpets and Afro percussion to create a flowing groove. Last is the downtempo “Manazel” which has mystical vocals and Middle Eastern string flurries.
