Yemanjo – La Misma Fuente

Yemanjo is an organic house producer whose new album, La Misma Fuente is full of feel-good vibes. The 10-track release combines musical elements from his home scene in California (America) with the cultural music of places such as Africa and Latin America.

Currently living in Guatemala, Yemanjo has always been fascinated with the music and culture of Africa and Latin America, and has spent time travelling to study the music of those cultures. He started his musical journey as a trumpeter and vocalist who later discovered electronic music. La Misma Fuente is a vibrant body of music that transports the listener to hot and humid locations… whether it be the Flamenco guitar of “Mar Mar Mar” that paints pictures of courtyard dance floors in Spain, or the Afro house beats of “Bululú” that gives the listener a glimpse into the underground nightclubs of Africa. On a whole, there is probably more of a Latin influence to the album, but some tracks mix even more elements, as this album is a melting pot of many different cultures.

This album is a great piece of music to play from start to finish, but for organic house and downtempo DJs there are also some gems. “Juru Fô” and “Bululú” are both good examples of tracks that might find their way into DJ sets, but all could be used in the right set.

Some of the DJs already showing their support for this release include Be Svendsen, Djuma Soundsystem, Acid Pauli and Chus & Ceballos.
