PREMIERE: Benni Matern – Lektion 161 [DS-0003]

We are back on Deep Stories Records and have new music for you. The Heidelberg based producer Benni Matern has convinced us with his productions and we are happy to release his “What Is Left” EP.

The title track gently introduces into the EP and at the same time gives an impression in which direction the EP should go. A striking bass meets a lasting melody. Together, these two elements create a comforting atmosphere and make “What Is Left” an emotional prelude that makes you want more.

Ready picks up the basic elements of the striking bass and the defining synth melody again, but is rather darker and more powerful. Overall, this track develops a completely different dynamic and shows that Benni Matern understands how to reflect different emotional states in his productions.

With lesson 161 it then becomes more driving. In this track drums and percussions play a bigger role. Lesson 161 thus forms a fitting conclusion to the EP and shows once again that the artist can serve many areas of electronic music.
