Kermesse – Limbo

Noema is an organic house artist from Germany and his record label The Magic Movement is well-known within the genre’s international scene. The Magic Movement’s latest offering welcomes the return of Kermesse who have been imprint favourites ever since the label released their self-titled album in 2018. After the album helped springboard their career, Kermesse have had a close relationship with The Magic Movement and this is the first time that they have dropped new material on the imprint since 2001. There have also been two singles from the release in the build-up to the full package being dropped and it’s a fantastic four-track release that showcases Kermesse’s distinctive style that fuses mesmerising vocals with organic percussion and captivating synth lines.

“On the Road” is a song for a weary traveller who is ready to kick back and relax with some dance floor therapy as its uplifting energy is the perfect pick me up.

“Limbo” is a curious track with lyrics that talk about taking in one’s surroundings when in an altered state of mind. It’s a track that many of us who have spent a day and night partying can relate to.

“Melting” has a tropical melody with a thick bassline and distinctive vocals about melting into a mind-altering situation, which gives the track a trippy vibe that is augmented with ambient vocal textures that add to the track’s expansive sound.

“Wawanko” finishes the release with a lo-fi vocal that sounds South American in origin and combined with the shaking percussion and fluttering melodies, it has got an enchanting vibe full of intrigue and mystery.
