Timujin – High Scheherazade EP

Out now on the trueColors record label is a massive six track remix EP with deep atmosphere and heart-warming melodies. The label’s back catalogue features tracks and remixes from the likes of Nick Warren, Hraach, Armen Miran, David Mayer and Timujin. This in another star-studded release featuring new remixes of classic tracks by Timujin that were released on the label between 2019 and 2021. YokoO and Francesco Mami collaborate on a remix and this is their second time working together in the studio after they remixed Yulia Niko on Watergate Records. Both are already accomplished solo artists that have also worked with numerous others, and their combined back catalogues include labels such as Stil Vor Talent, Bar 25 Music, All Day I Dream and Kindisch. Other artists also putting their stamp on this release include Inámo, Roi Okev and Wild Dark. Inámo is a talented producer who’s previously featured on trueColors along with other labels such as Earthly Delights and Meandisco. Roi Okev is an up-and-coming talent from Tel-Aviv in Israel, and he has previously featured on trueColors when working with Inámo, but this time he is working as a solo producer who has featured two alternative versions of Timujin’s “High Scheherezade”. Wild Dark complete the impressive collection of remixes on this release, and they work in the melodic style they have previously featured on labels such as Anjunadeep. All of the remixes add something different to the release, YokoO and Francesco Mami’s has a deep tech style with dub inspired synths and spacious atmosphere. Inámo’s has tribal percussion and a synth that makes groove more epic as the track develops. Roi Okev’s remix version has plodding synths and mesmerising atmospherics, and his ‘Piano Re-Edit’ is even more atmospheric with a beautiful piano melody. Wild Dark remix two different tracks, where they both have a steady flow of energy and a building suspense that’s understated while also being full of personality. It’s a release that covers a few styles ranging from melodic house to deep techno, but it also touches on organic/afro house.
