Head of Clouds – Alba

Head Of Clouds is a Spanish artist whose style is an awe-inspiring blend of majestic ambience and heart-warming deep house. Skating the line between the two genres he has developed a style that has cinematic elements while also having dance floor friendly percussion. His tracks are perhaps too ambient for some DJ sets, but for those people they still remain perfect for home listening, as they exude a musicianship that isn’t always present in electronic music. The most recent Head Of Clouds release is titled ‘Alba’ and it’s one of his more dance floor orientated tracks with strong percussive rhythms providing a back bone for the groove. It’s got a slow tempo at only 116 BPM, but its soaring pads fill it with an uplifting energy that make it feel faster than it is. There is also a poignant piano part that really tugs on the heartstrings and adds to the emotive atmosphere. After the main break it’s got a feel-good kick where the percussion lifts the track and elevates the mood even more. Pitched up, it could be a perfect edition to a melodic house/techno set or at its original tempo, it could be a blissed out moment in an organic house set.

It could also just be an accompaniment to a morning coffee while staring out the window at a bountiful sunrise.
